If you try to figure out what are your motivations and priorities are, you could understand the reasons why you don’t travel much. In response, you may say that - “I don’t have the required money to travel.”
Fair enough its true traveling requires a fair bit of money, but for most of us who say this, it would be better to say, “I’ve prioritized to spend money on a lot of other things, so now I don’t have money to travel.” Truth is that we do have enough wealth, but spending too much trying to make our life luxurious instead. In most cases, we choose what we deem worthy, either consciously or unconsciously.
Many folks, young and old, have no problem happily spending their cash and even going into debt for luxuries. But you can choose to focus your own spending priorities on meaningful experiences. If you sort your priorities right you can manage both time and cash to spend on traveling. Small daily savings from luxuries can be used in your next tour – think about it this way.
Some people state a different issue – it’s not always safe to travel. They feel like if they were to leave home, something terrible will go wrong in a new place. Aside from the fact that bad things can happen in your own country and neighborhood just as easily as anywhere else, there are very few places in the world that are actually hostile or unsafe for visitors.
The more you travel, the more you will realize you are at least as safe in many places around the world as you are at your home sweet home. Sure, you probably shouldn’t plan a trip to war zones, but the list of inhospitable places is really short. There are a plethora of amazing places to visit, so get started.
Some people say, “I like to stay at home” This is another way of saying, “I’m scared of change and new experiences.” Yes, most of us feel this way at one time or another. It’s just something that needs to be overcome. A small group of people will be brave enough to do it, and the rest will stay home, never going out beyond their own culture of comfort. It’s their loss; don’t let it be yours.
Some have another way of thinking that they leave this kind of stuff for future, they will do it when they retire. But to be frank, life is uncertain. Why keeping your wishes unfilled, thinking you will get time to do it later. But time and your age won’t wait for anything. So why not now, rather than some uncertain post-retirement time. What is dangerous, however, is when delayed gratification becomes an excuse for not living the life to its fullest as you want. How many people do you know that actually do the things they say they are going to when they reach arbitrary ages of leaving the jobs they have given their lives to?
Moreover, your work should not exist merely to provide income for the rest of your life. Ask yourself, what are you working for? Are you working to make a living or to make a life? If it doesn’t satisfy your heart then maybe it’s time to take the first steps to make a change.
Think about it, the more you will travel, the more you will learn, and the more you will realize how massive the world really is. You may have missed a nearby place that is eye-captivating, think about places like that around the globe, think about the lifestyles of different people from different countries that you haven’t experienced. Are they worth spending your time and money? Learn from the world by experiencing it to the fullest Just think about it this way- If you could go anywhere in the world, where would that be? Just Don’t think about reasons why you can’t go there.
Brainstorm through the six inhabited continents – Africa, Australia, Asia, Europe, North and South America – and think about cities or countries on each of them that you’ve always wondered about. Actually, sometimes international travel is not nearly as expensive as the lifestyle many people wear themselves out to maintain, it’s true that it does cost money to travel around the world but it is affordable for a lot of people
Last but not the least; If you don’t take your own dreams seriously, who will? Therefore, plan wisely, sort your financial priority- Just believe that it’s never too late to travel.
